Savonlinna Ballet Festival in Olavinlinna castle
Celebration and dramatic arts continue in Savonlinna even after the Opera Festival, when the elite ballet dancers leap to the Olavinlinna estrade as the Savonlinna Ballet Festival starts in the beginning of August. During the years the castle has been the scene for classic ballets, such as Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet. The audience has been witnessing the best choreographies from the leading ballet houses in the world. The twilight of August evenings is an excellent canvas for the abundant colors and flamboyance of ballet. Be warned: the dance might sweep you along!
