SAVONLINNA TRAVEL LTD’S RESERVATION TERMS
Savonlinna Travel Ltd’s reservations are subject to the following terms, effective as of 1 June, 2010.
ONLINE RESERVATIONS IN TOUR OPERATORS´WEB SERVICE:
Savonlinna.Travel Tour Operators´ web service is an online travel booking system provided by Savonlinna Travel Ltd.
Payment and reservation confirmation
Savonlinna.Travel Tour Operators’ Web Service accepts online payment by Visa credit card. You can also pay the advance payment (30 %) with visa and the rest with the final invoice. When booking online, the entire product fee has to be paid by credit card if there is 10 days or less to the start of the rental period. The price includes the products and services listed on the product card. The price may vary depending on when the reservation was made. Additional services which can be reserved in connection with the reservations of the product are priced separately. Reservations for additional services are binding. A reservation is confirmed once the entire product fee has been paid. After the customer has paid the reservation fee, the reservation system sends a reservation confirmation, product information and the reservation terms by e-mail to the address provided by the customer. If the customer does not receive a reservation confirmation, the reservation has not been registered. The reservation confirmation should be stored for warranty or reclamation purposes. If the reservation does not get confirmed, the customer should contact Savonlinna Travel Ltd without delay. In such an event, Savonlinna Travel Ltd cannot guarantee product availability.
RESERVATIONS MADE IN THE SAVONLINNA TRAVEL LTD’S RESERVATION CENTRE:
Savonlinna Travel Ltd sells travel services by phone and e-mail as well in its reservation centre. Services are sold to private persons of full age, as well as to companies and organizations.
Payment and reservation confirmation
Reservations made by phone or email are invoiced immediately after the reservation. Once the reservation has been made, the customer shall receive an invoice/confirmation and bank transfer forms for making payment. A handling fee of 12-20 euros is charged with the invoice. With accommodation and packages, 30 percent of the price is charged as a deposit. Other products are paid with one invoice. A reservation is confirmed once the customer has paid the invoice/deposit. The deposit has to be paid within 7 days of the date of the reservation confirmation. The remaining sum has to be paid at least 6 weeks before the start of the rental period. Reservations for summer season have to be paid by the end of April. Summer reservations made after April are invoiced with one invoice immediately after the reservation confirmation. Reservations for Christmas and New Year (19 December – 15 January) have to be paid by the end of September. Reservations for Christmas and New York made after September are invoiced with one invoice immediately after the reservation confirmation. The remaining sum has to be paid without separate notice, otherwise the reservation is cancelled. If the reservation is made later than 6 weeks before the start of the rental period, the entire sum must be paid immediately. After the customer has paid the reservation fee, a reservation confirmation, product information and the reservation terms will be sent by post or e-mail to the address provided by the customer.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellations must always be made in writing, regardless of the form of reservation. A cancellation is considered valid once the reservation centre has received the cancellation notification.
Summer season
If the customer cancels the reservation before the end of April (30 April), a cancellation fee of 50 euros/reservation shall be charged. If the cancellation is made later than 15 May, the entire rent shall be charged.
Christmas and New Year season
If the customer cancels the reservation before the 15 of November (15.11.), a cancellation fee of 50 euros/reservation shall be charged. If the cancellation is made later than 15 of November, the entire rent shall be charged.
Other times:
If the customer cancels the reservation earlier than 21 days before the start of the rental period, a cancellation fee of 50 euros shall be charged. If the cancellation is made later than 21 days before the start of the rental period, the entire rent shall be charged.
If the reservation is cancelled before the start of the rental period due to sudden illness, accident or death affecting the customer or his or her immediate family which has occurred after the reservation was made, the customer has a right to have any rent which has been paid returned minus a service fee. The reservation centre must be contacted without delay, and a doctor’s certificate or other reliable document must be presented. If a cancellation based on the above is made during the rental period, the rent will not be returned.
If the customer wants to change the reservation, this is considered a cancellation of the prior reservation and as a new reservation. In the case of force majeure, Savonlinna Travel Ltd has the right to cancel a reservation. In such an event the customer has the right to receive full compensation. Expenses caused to the customer by a reservation which has been cancelled due to force majeure are not compensated.
SAVONLINNA TRAVEL LTD’S HOLIDAY COTTAGE RESERVATION TERMS:
Check-in and check-out
The rental period begins at 4 pm on the day of arrival and ends at 12 noon on the day of departure. During the summer season the minimum rental period is one week, the changeover day is Saturday.
Keys and driving instructions
Together with the reservation confirmation, the customer shall receive driving instructions to the holiday cottage and the name and address of the cottage owner. The customer should contact the cottage owner to discuss how the keys for the cottage can be obtained. The cottage owner must always be informed of the arrival time by the customer.
Number of guests
The holiday cottage may not be used by more people than specified in the holiday cottage description. The number of overnight guests is determined by the number of beds. If the number of beds holiday cottage description is 4 + 2, there are four beds for adults and two additional beds (a sofa bed in the bedroom/loft, for example) in the cottage. An additional bed can be either a bed or a mattress. The use of tents, caravans and mobile homes on the grounds of the holiday cottage is prohibited without the permission of the cottage owner.
Pets
Bringing pets to the holiday cottage is not allowed, unless otherwise stated in the product description.
Included in the price
The price includes free use of the holiday cottage, sauna and boat as well as the services listed in the product description. All cottages are furnished and equipped with cleaning equipment, tableware and cooking utensils. Electricity and firewood for heating are included in the price. Firewood is not necessarily chopped in advance. During spring, autumn and winter, the holiday cottage is always heated before the start of the rental period.
Not included in the price
The price does not include detergents, spices, toilet paper or paper towel.
Machines and devices
The owner of the cottage must give instructions on how to use the machines and devices in the cottage if there are no instructions or manuals available in the cottage.
Additional services and equipment
The additional services and equipment listed in the product description can be booked in connection with the reservation of the cottage. Equipment reserved as additional services (outboard motors, skates, snow shoes etc.) are available during the entire rental period unless otherwise stated in the product description.
Bed linen
Customers bring their own bed linen or book them as an additional service, which includes sheets, pillow cases, hand towels and bath towels.
Cleaning
Customers are responsible for cleaning the holiday cottage during and at the end of the rental period. Final cleaning can be reserved as an additional service. If the cottage has not been cleaned at the end of the rental period, the owner has the right to charge a cleaning fee of at least 80 euros. If final cleaning is not reserved, customers are responsible for:
-shaking the carpets
-vacuuming
-cleaning the floors
-removing bed linen from beds
-washing up, putting tableware etc. back in their original place
-wiping kitchen counters, tables and the stove
-cleaning the sauna
-cleaning the toilet
-emptying the rubbish bins
-cleaning the fireplace
-washing the boat if it has been used
Damages
Customers are responsible for paying for any damages caused to the holiday cottage or its movables directly to the owner of the holiday cottage.
Complaints
Any complaints involving the holiday cottage must be presented without delay to the owner of the holiday cottage or to Savonlinna Travel Ltd. If the matter cannot be rectified immediately, an application for compensation can be made. The application for compensation must be made in writing and has to be delivered to the reservation centre no later than 30 days after the termination of the rental period. The responsibility for compensation is limited to no more than the amount of the rent. Savonlinna Travel Ltd is not responsible for any noise, for example from construction work that may be caused by a third party.
