The excursion is a cruise to the Linnansaari National Park. The cruise presents the incredible landscapes of the national park and includes a pinic on the top of the astounding Linnavuori rock. The excursion guide will familiarise the travellers with the most scenic lake area of the Finnish nature, explains facts which caused the birth of the area, and takes the boat to areas with high possibilities of encountering a Saimaa ringed seal. The boat used in the excursion is roofed and has heating. The excursion lasts for about 5 hours and starts from Savonlinna. Trials with more than 50 tree species, mainly coniferous, have been established on a 150-hectare area in the Punkaharju research park. In addition to these trials, there is an arboretum containing small plots of all the exotic tree species planted in the research park and also some other species that cannot be found elsewhere in the area. When this arboretum was established during 1929-1938, altogether 72 tree species were planted there. Siikalahti is the overgrown eastern bay of Lake Simpelejärvi. There are an exceptionally large amount of birds nesting in the area as well as stopping there during migration. Kolovesi Nature Information Hut is located in Enonkoski municipality centre near beautiful rapids, in an old granary. It is open in the summer and there is an exhibition about the natural features of Kolovesi. There you can also get information on how to explore the National Park, where to rent canoes and boats, and where to obtain fishing permits and licences. » See more information |

Oskari -Linnansaari Visitor Centre is located in the centre of the Municipality of Rantasalmi on the shore of Lake Pieni Raudanvesi. Oskari Visitor Centre´s exhibition offers information in a vivid way on Linnansaari National Park. The park is situated in the middle of Lake Haukivesi which is one of the biggest basins of the great Lake Saimaa in eastern Finland. Oskari´s customer service provide information on other destinations, especially on boating and hiking possibilities, and gives tourist information on the surrounding area. Nestori - Saimaa Nature Exhibition provides information on Lake Saimaa, the biggest lake in Finland. In the starring role acts the endangered Saimaa Ringed Seal. The information point and the museum shop offer information on the national parks of the region (Linnansaari, Kolovesi and Repovesi) and on the various hiking and boating services in the Savonlinna Region.
